Tsum Valley & Manaslu Circuit Trek – Cultural & Spiritual Journey & Himalayan Pass Adventure
Tsum Valley and Manaslu Circuit Trek
The Tsum Valley and Manaslu Trek is one of Nepal’s most thrilling Himalayan adventures, combining the untouched serenity of Tsum Valley with the dramatic Manaslu Circuit. This remarkable journey takes you through the remote Buddhist settlements, ancient monasteries, sacred caves, lush valleys, and high mountain passes, offering both cultural immersion and breathtaking landscapes.
The trek begins with a scenic drive to Soti Khola, from where the trail gradually follows the Budhi Gandaki River, crossing ridges and charming villages. In Tsum Valley, trekkers experience deep-rooted Tibetan Buddhist traditions, visit sacred sites like Milarepa’s Cave, and explore Rachen Gompa, Mu Gompa, and Gumba Lungdang, where evening pujas provide a truly spiritual experience. A side trip to Ganesh Himal Base Camp rewards adventurers with panoramic views of the Ganesh Himal range.
From there, the trail merges with the Manaslu Circuit, circling the world’s eighth-highest mountain, Mount Manaslu (8163m). The route passes through culturally diverse villages and alpine landscapes before leading to the trek’s greatest challenge and highlight: crossing the Larkya-La Pass (5160m), Nepal’s longest mountain pass, with majestic views of Himlung Himal, Cheo Himal, Kang Guru, and Annapurna II. The journey concludes by descending along the Marshyangdi River valley and driving back to Kathmandu.
